Before I ever opened a balance sheet, I served in the United States Coast Guard. That experience shaped how I work today: show up, take responsibility, communicate clearly, and do the job right because people are counting on you.
After the Coast Guard, I built my career in accounting and financial management. I worked my way into leadership, served as an accounting manager at a CPA firm, and learned how businesses actually succeed or struggle behind the scenes.
That experience changed how I saw the work. Financials are not just reports. They are the operating system of the business. When the numbers are unclear, owners make decisions in the dark. When the numbers are clean, everything gets easier.
